Scarcity of water is the topic is almost everyday chats and it pops up more around the festival of holi, which is quite popular in all the regions of India primarily because the celebration of the festival is with water. Also this happens during the month of March when the summer is approaching and people across nation start sensing the scarcity of water.
There are various views about the celebration of festival and wastage of water. When I discussed it with teenage children around me, they were concerned and confused. The discussions took us to celebrate this festival differently and that is how this event shaped up.
Children went to invite their friends and the news spread like wind where not only children but even adults participated in the event where we celebrated this festival of colours by painting papers instead of painting faces. Happiness unlimited and still the message of βsave waterβ was sent across. Newspapers and radio channels took the cognizance of the same and an appeal was made to society to look at festivals with different perspectives with changing timesβ¦
